DU Admit Card Download Guide: How to Get Your Hall Ticket Online

Step-by-step guide to downloading your Delhi University semester exam admit card from the official DU portal, including troubleshooting tips for common errors.

Every semester, thousands of Delhi University students scramble to download their admit cards days before the exam — only to face portal crashes, missing roll numbers, and incorrect subject listings. Your admit card (also called a hall ticket) is a mandatory document. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

This guide provides the exact steps to download your admit card and troubleshoot every common issue.

Step-by-Step: How to Download Your DU Admit Card

Step 1: Visit the Official DU Examination Portal

Go to the Delhi University examination website. The admit card section is typically available at the link circulated by your college's examination cell or the central DU exam branch.

Step 2: Log In with Your Credentials

You will need:

  • Enrollment Number / Roll Number — This is on your university ID card and previous semester mark sheets.
  • Date of Birth — In DD/MM/YYYY format.
  • College Name — Select from the dropdown.

Step 3: Verify Your Details

Once logged in, your admit card will display:

  • Your name and photograph.
  • Examination centre (venue) and seat number.
  • List of papers with dates and timings.
  • Exam roll number (different from your enrollment number).

Critical: Verify every detail immediately. If your name is misspelled, a paper is missing, or your photo is wrong, report it to your college examination cell right away.

Step 4: Download and Print

  • Click the "Download" or "Print" button.
  • Save the PDF and take 2 printed copies — one for the exam hall and one as a backup.
  • Carry a valid photo ID (Aadhar, College ID, or Passport) along with the admit card.

Common Problems and Fixes

"Roll Number Not Found"

  • Double-check your enrollment number. Common errors include confusing "0" (zero) with "O" (letter) or transposing digits.
  • If the number is correct but still not found, your college may not have submitted your examination form to the university. Contact your college examination cell immediately.

"Admit Card Shows Fewer Papers Than Expected"

  • This usually means your examination form for those papers was not submitted or your fee payment did not go through. Visit your college admin office with your fee receipt.

"Portal Is Down / Loading Slowly"

  • DU portals experience heavy traffic in the days before exams. Try accessing the portal:
    • Early in the morning (before 8 AM).
    • Late at night (after 11 PM).
    • Using a wired connection or different browser.

"Photograph on Admit Card Is Incorrect"

  • You can still appear for the exam with the incorrect photo, provided you carry your college ID card for identity verification. However, report the issue to your college immediately for correction.

When Are Admit Cards Released?

Admit cards are typically released 10 to 15 days before the exam start date. However, DU has been known to release them as late as 3–5 days before exams. Check your college notice board and official university social media handles daily once the exam schedule is announced.
