What was asked in the 2025 Linear and Digital Integrated Circuits paper?
Text of the DU question paper (UPC 2222531202), so you can see what gets asked before opening a PDF.
3. Attempt four questions in all including Question No. 1.
1. Attempt the following : (5x3=15)
(a) The inputs of an OR gate are driven by waveforms A and B given below.
Draw the output waveform for the gate.
(b) Simplify the given expressions using Boolean algebra:
(c) Define the terms CMRR for an operational amplifier. What is its significance?
(d) Distinguish between a Decoder and Demultiplexer circuits?
(e) Consider an Op-amp in open loop inverting configuration. The input to the circuit is a sinusoidal signal of frequency 1KHz and peak value 50 mV. Draw the output waveform.
2. (a) Explain the virtual ground condition in an op-amp circuit with suitable diagram. Derive the expressions for the gain of an operational amplifier in non-inverting configuration. (10)
(b) In the circuit of given figure below: if, V. = -4V, Vo=-2V, Ve = +3V,
R. = R, = R. = 4 KS and Vec = ‡15V. Assuming that the op-amp is initially nulled. Determine the output voltage Vo. (5)
(a) Draw the logic circuit of a 4-bit multiplexer and write its truth table. Implement a 8 x 1 multiplexer using 4 x 1 multiplexers. (10)
(b) Determine the sum of (1100), and (0101), by analyzing the logical operation of a four-bit parallel adder.
4. (a) What are synchronous and asynchronous counters? Draw the circuit diagram of a ring counter and explain its working.
(b) For a 5-bit resistive divider determine the output voltage for a digital input of (10101),. Assume logic 0 = OV, and logic 1 = 10 V. (5)
5. (a) Write truth table for a J-K type flip-flop and explain the phenomena of racing. How does a master-slave configuration help in solving race around condition in J-K type flip-flop? (10)
(b) Draw the Karnaugh-map for the given function and obtain the simplified the
Boolean expression.
