DU's common papers for December 2026: SEC on 5 Dec (Semester 5), 17 Dec (Semester 1) and 19 Dec (Semester 3); VAC for Semesters 1 and 3 on Monday, 21 Dec; GE between 19 and 26 Dec; and AEC (EVS and language papers) on Saturday, 26 Dec for Semester 1 and Monday, 28 Dec for Semester 3.
The same dates apply whatever your course (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, Hons or Prog), because AEC, SEC, VAC and GE papers come from a university-wide pool. The GE datesheet is the largest one: more than 1,400 papers across all departments. Each semester has its own day:

AEC Datesheet December 2026 (EVS and Languages)

Semester 1 AEC: Saturday, 26 December 2026. Covers Environmental Science: Theory into Practice – I and the language AECs (Hindi, Urdu A/B/C, Sanskrit A/B/C, Punjabi, and Basic Assamese, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, etc.).

Semester 3 AEC: Monday, 28 December 2026. Covers Environmental Science: Theory into Practice – II and the intermediate-level language papers (Intermediate Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi Bhasha Ate Media/Computer/Anuvad, etc.).
Both days have 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM sittings. The datesheet lists some papers in both, so confirm yours by paper code.

How to Prepare for the Common Papers

Revise them after your core papers. Apart from the Semester 5 SEC on 5 December, every common paper comes after mid-December, once your DSC and DSE papers are done.

AEC is your last paper, on 26 Dec (Semester 1) or 28 Dec (Semester 3). EVS questions repeat a lot from year to year, so two or three EVS past papers are usually enough to see the pattern.

VAC and SEC are 2-credit papers, but they count toward your SGPA like any other paper. An hour on past papers the day before is the cheapest grade boost you'll get.

Watch for clashes. In Semester 1, GE (23 Dec) and AEC (26 Dec) are three days apart. In Semester 3, GE (22 Dec) is the day after VAC (21 Dec). Plan your revision around those pairs.
